On August16, 2021, Mitchell Public Schools Board of Education formally approved the following position:
Mitchell Public Schools is committed to providing curriculum consistent with constituents’ expectations.
The Mitchell Public School board will not accept or formally adopt the Nebraska Department of Education Health Standards as presented. The MPS guaranteed curriculum for Health will be developed at the local district level using a combination of reliable, appropriate resources.
Input for Draft #2 of the Nebraska Department of Education's Health Standards closed on August 13, 2021. Mitchell administration will review the latest draft (Draft #3 or final) when it becomes available. This review will not impact or nullify the above position statement.
