Mitchell Public Schools

The Mitchell FFA competed in their second round of CDE's in Gordon on Wednesday. They did very well with many students earning ribbons in their respective competitions. Farm and Ag Business: They got 4th as a team and qualified for State. Seth Jacobs placed 10th, Zane Keller placed 11th, Memphis Erdman placed 19th, Jake Meyer placed 29th, Reese Sauer placed 52nd, and Chole Morrill placed 72nd. Food Science: They placed 2nd as a team and qualified for state. Corbyn Zaruba placed 3rd, Audree Carlson placed 6th, Natasha Lydon placed 11th, and Thomas Esselstein placed 49th. Vet Science: They placed 10th as a team. Kate Pieper placed 15th, Josie Weiss placed 33rd, Jace Hendren placed 47th, and Hadleigh Bolzer placed 48th. Ag Mechanics: They placed 9th as a team. Brenden Keener placed 9th in Electrical, Rio Williams placed 5th in Small Engines, Mason Pitts placed 9th in Equipment and Thane Williams placed 13th in Hydraulics. The kids represented Mitchell well and we are proud of their accomplishments. Their last competitions to qualify for State Competition will be February 25th in Kimball.

Basketball Update: With both the girls and boys winning tonight, each team advances in the WTC tournament. Mitchell Girls will play Bridgeport at WNCC tomorrow- 2PM. Mitchell Boys will play Kimball at WNCC tomorrow- 5PM.

Girls Basketball C team update: Mitchell will not be able to participate in the tournament at Gering on the 9th, 10th, and 12th of February.

Schedule Update:

C Team Basketball Tournament Next Week has had a change, Mitchel will no longer play Chadron on Monday but will travel to Alliance on Tuesday February 10th to take on the Bulldogs in the semifinals. Game time is 6:00PM.

Important Announcement: February 11-12 will be Parent Teacher Conferences. On February 11th, K-6 will hold school as a Friday schedule (8:00 to 12:30) with conferences to follow from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. 7-12th Grades WILL NOT have school on Feb. 11th due to hosting the WTC Speech Meet. Parent/Teacher Conferences will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday for 7-12th grades. On February 12th, K-12 will have a Friday schedule with Parent/Teacher conferences to follow from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. There is no school for students on Friday the 13th (Good Luck, Tiger Parents!) and Monday, February 16th.
