"The Mitchell FFA group had a really good day at our final contest in Kimball. We qualified 4 teams out of the 6 competitions for state. The Agronomy placed 5th qualifying for state with Wyatt Sauer placing 11th, Jackson Jenkins placing 14th, Rylan Houk placing 18th, and Kaden Hessler placing 33rd. The Agronomy 2 team placed 11th consisting of Michael Suttles, Justin Haskins, Emmett Carlson and Blake Buckley. The Meats Judging team placed 5th, qualifying for state with Corbyn Zaruba placing 10th, Hadleigh Bolzer placing 19th, Thomas Esselstein placing 24th and Mason Pitts placing 46th. Others on the team were Kolbie Gluth and Shirley Cotant. The Agscience Team placed 3rd, qualifying for state with Jarin Houk placing 8th, Lucas Esselstein placing 15th, Cash Robbins placing 20th and Garrett Lebruska placing 21st. The Nursery and Landscape Team placed 4th, qualifying for state with Alissa Hodsden placing 11th, Kaitlyn Keener placing 16th, Reese Sauer placing 26th and Audree Carlson placing 36th. Others on the team were Haylee Jacobs and Ashton Keener. The Bio-tech team placed 6th but they only take the top two teams to state. Jaelyn Yetter was our top qualifier in 8th place. Others on the team were Albert Morrill, Chloe Morrill and Justin Haskins. With the teams that qualified for state today, we have a full bus going to Lincoln for state taking 32 kids. It has been an awesome year and can't wait to see how these kids do at state."

Congratulations to Coach Dillon Broussard for being recognized as the Western Conference Assistant Coach of the Year. He was recognized during halftime of the Mitchell/Kimball boys game on Friday, February 21. Congratulations Coach Broussard!
The Mitchell Cheer Team represented the panhandle at State Cheer this year! They had a great Traditional Performance placing 7th and showed off their game days skills in a Game Day Performance. They are also bringing home an Academic Excellence Award for their hard work in the classroom all year leading up to the competition!

Mon., Feb. 17th - Girls Basketball Sub-Districts game Today is Canceled. The game has been pushed to Tomorrow, Tues., Feb. 18th. Sub-District Bracket times stay the same, just playing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
JH Boys Basketball Tournament is moved to Thurs., Feb. 20th, Mon., Feb. 24th, and the Championships will be at Scottsbluff Middle School on Tuesday, Feb. 25th.
